The silence test
TaskThe model had to stay quiet for a moment; the correct reply had zero characters.
It did not stay silent in any of its six tries. To an English request for silence it wrote a 1,369-character explainer with headings and a numbered list, even though its first sentence admitted that if it were truly silent, I would not see any reply at all.
